Welcome from the President

Welcome to the Arizona Flycasters Club. We have been around since 1962 and continue to be at the forefront of teaching all aspects of flyfishing to the Valley of the Sun and beyond. Check out our website, get a feel for who we are and come to one of our informative monthly meetings. We meet at the Sunnyslope Community Center in north central Phoenix. We have speakers from all areas of flyfishing from guides, outfitters, instructors from all over the western US. We also hold a raffle at the end of the meeting so you’ll have a chance to win some prizes and help fund our club with its educational outreach.

We teach fly tying, fly rod casting, appropriate rigging, proper equipment and fly rod building to our members. You’ll learn how to double-haul, perform a roll cast as well as other casting techniques in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. These classes are free to all members.

Our members also enjoy outings to local waters in the cooler months and in the higher elevations during the summer. We also head to the San Juan River in New Mexico a couple of times a year. We’ve also done some salt water trips in the past.

Did I mention we enjoy food? Seems almost every time we get together, great food is involved. Whether it’s on a camping trip, traveling destination or even a quick trip to the Salt River, we gather around food. So if you love the outdoors, flyfishing and food, this is the place for you.

We also have our Annual Awards Banquet & Raffle held in the early spring that you just don’t want to miss. We have a huge raffle with fine dining, camaraderie and a way to win some great prizes.

A family membership is only $35 and that includes everyone who lives under the same roof as you. Look at all the club has to offer and you’ll soon realize that’s probably the best $35 you’ve ever spent.  We look forward to you joining us.
