From June 11 through 18, we will be in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Considered a fishing mecca of southwestern Colorado, Pagosa Springs offers the opportunity to catch a number of different trout in the abundant streams and reservoirs. On a typical day you can expect to catch cutthroat, brook, brown, and rainbow trout and Kokanee landlocked salmon. Many members have secured spots at Sportsman’s Campground located a short 30 minutes outside Pagosa Springs. Sportsman’s offers RV parking with full hook ups, cabin rentals, and tent sites offering full amenities, including showers and laundry facilities in a quaint family atmosphere. But due to the popularity of the area, RV sites are hard to come by at the campground. A quarter mile away from Sportsman’s is a state campground where you literally can take two steps out your tent or RV and be standing in Williams Creek, the tailwater of the reservoir, catching trout on a stone fly! Downtown Pagosa Springs offers hotels, B&B’s, and timeshares. In fact, you don’t even need to leave town, as the San Juan River is only steps away.
