Chick Scott and Dario Travaini
Memorial Scholarship Fund
As Established by:
The Arizona Flycasters Club
The Arizona Flycasters Club established a scholarship endowment with the Northern Arizona University Biological Sciences Department. The intention of this endowment is to assist students who as graduates will enter into the workforce as professional biologists and have a positive impact on fields such as conservation, fisheries and wildlife management along with environment improvement.
Northern Arizona University was chosen for the education institution due to its quality degree programs that support fisheries biology and related sciences.
It is the goal of The Arizona Flycasters Club to improve the endowment to the point that it can sustain meaningful distribution of funds.
The endowment has been named after two outstanding members of the Club.
Eugene “Chick” Scott was a master educator in the art of fly tying and taught literally hundreds of people over the years the art of fly tying. To Chick it truly was an art.
Dario Travaini’s name was added to the name of the endowment in March 2007, due to his outstanding contributions to the Club and its efforts in education and quality. He was the president of the Club at the time the endowment was initiated and he continued to support the endowment in many ways.
