"The Future of trophy trout fishing in the White Mountains"
Becker Lake is currently proposed for catch and release regulations with the Commission voting on this on October 9. This presentation by Kelly Meyer of AZ Game & Fish will cover the biology and results from surveys of Becker lake in general. It will also cover current and future opportunities for trophy trout fishing in the White Mountains.
Kelly Meyer is a native of Wyoming he received a fisheries degree at Utah State in 1984 and a Masters in Fisheries at Virginia Tech in 1990. He worked as a Fish Biologist for the White Mountain Apache Tribe from 1990 to 1998 (during the time that catch and release fisheries were established at Ditch Camp, Pacheta and Earl Park Lakes). Since 2001 he has worked for AZ Game and Fish (Pinetop office) on sports fisheries and Apache trout recovery.
